Bryan's House (a project of OPEN ARMS, INC.)

Access: Multilingual (Spanish, French) and DART. How to Apply: Call for appointment with social worker. Services: Provides daytime and overnight Medically-Managed Child Care to HIV positive children and the children of HIV positive parents. This care is provided to children from birth through the age of 11, in a homelike, sub-acute, 24 hour facility. In addition, Bryan's House operates an adolescent program for youth ages 12-18 impacted by HIV/AIDS. Provides counseling and social work services to client families affected by HIV/AIDS, including transportation, distribution of diapers, formula, baby goods and limited financial assistance for medical and non-medical emergencies. All services are cost-free.

Camp Fire USA Lone Star Council

Services: Provides youth development programs to boys and girls, ages 5-21, that empower them to become caring, confident youth and future leaders. Small group activities for children and families teach skills in daily living, decision making and community service. Offers school-age child care and drop in centers, outdoor programs, and employment training for young adults. Programs help children learn safety and crime prevention skills, to develop good citizenship and to resist negative peer pressure. Scholarships available.

Dallas Bethlehem Center (DBC) is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing the children of South Dallas with a positive enviornment for growth, regardless of their economic status or family situation. VOGEL ALCOVE CHILDCARE

Provides free quality child care and social services for families residing in affiliated shelters or transitional housing programs for the homeless. WASHINGTON STREET PRESBYTERIAN MISSION

Through the Roseland Homemakers program, the Mission provides bible study, congregate hot lunches three days a week for seniors and fellowship activities for senior citizens from the Roseland Homes neighborhood. The Mission sponsors Adopt-A-Family program each Christmas in which individuals, businesses and congregations "adopt" neighborhood families, providing them with Christmas gifts and Christmas dinner.
