Christian Works For Children

Access: DART. How to Apply: call for appointment. Services: Formerly known as Christian Services, the agency's mission is to help children by offering services that aid children and families. GriefWorks is a support activity for children ages 5-18 who are grieving because of the death of parents, siblings or grandparents. Family Counseling services (bilingual counselor on staff) include counseling for families, marital counseling and individual counseling aimed at helping children have healthy families. Fees are based on the ability to pay, $5 to $70 per session. Adoption and maternity services are also offered. Adoptions are on a fee basis. Maternity services are free.

Cystic Fibrosis Care & Teaching Center at Children`s Medical Center

The Dallas Cystic Fibrosis Care and Teaching Center provides diagnosis, evaluation, education and treatment of children and young adults with cystic fibrosis. Procedures performed or problems diagnosed and treated: Sweat chloride testing; Nutritional Counseling; Ongoing patient/family education; Psychosocial counseling and support; Research Pulmonary function testing; and Case management. CF team includes physicians on the medical staff and employees whose specializations include cystic fibrosis, gastroenterology, pulmonology, nursing, social work, psychology, nutrition, respiratory therapy and child life care for patients in an outpatient setting.
