Dallas Area Rapid Transit-DART (Member)

Public transportation authority operating bus service in Dallas and suburban areas. Also provides special curb-to-curb transportation for persons with documented physical disabilities that prevent use of regular transit buses. Reduced fares for regular buses provided for persons aged 65 and older or persons with certain physical disabilities. Lift-equipped service provided on selected fixed bus routes. Reduced fares for ages 12 to 18 and enrolled in a curriculum required to obtain a high school diploma. To take advantage of the reduced fares, students in middle and high school must purchase a student photo J.D. card from DARTfor $2.00. Call (214) 979-1111 for additional information.

Jewish Family Services of Dallas (Member)

Provides counseling for individuals, couples and families including age appropriate play therapy for children, counseling for teens. Provides safety planning, individual counseling and support groups for victims of family violence. Offers case management for those requiring a variety of services internal and external to the agency. Provides counceling, support and family support groups for those coping with breast cancer. Offers support for the elderly including LIFELINE 24 hour emergency response, counseling, transportation for medical appointments, homemaker services, Kosher Home Delivered Meals, assessments, help with paperwork, guardianship, friendly visitors and support groups (caregivers, bereavement, chronic pain). Career and employment services include vocational evaluation, assessment and counseling for individuals who are unemployed, underemployed and/or coping with disabilities. We also operate a food pantry on site as part of the North Texas Food Bank.

We provide services for Seniors 60+ residing in our four-city service area. We provide services in the following zipcodes 75001, 75006, 75007, 75010, 75019, and 75234. These services include information and referral, Case Management, outreach and other assistance such as home delivered meals,Caregiver Support, Vials of Life, Friendly Visitor programs, transportation, minor home repairs / home safety, and loans of durable medical equipment. Transportation is provided by our wheelchair accessible vans and volunteers. Monthly SAS Newsletter is free for Senior Adults in our service area which can also be accessed on our website.
